A treasure trove full of vitamins
Tasty and healthy
According to the website of the Voedingscentrum (Dutch nutrition centre), the strawberry is the seventh most eaten fruit in the Netherlands. The taste of a strawberry is highly appreciated worldwide: you will also find the taste in many other products such as ice cream, yogurt, biscuits, candy and drinks.
The red fruit is rich in vitamin C and that can help keep your resistance up (good for the hair, skin and of course useful if you have a cold). In addition, vitamin C acts as an anti-oxidant and helps, for example, to neutralize certain harmful substances in the body. Our vitamin C topper is the Elan: this strawberry contains so much vitamin C that if you eat 5 to 10 strawberries, you already meet your daily recommended amount (according to the European Food Safety Authority)!
Strawberries also contribute to the intake of folic acid (also called vitamin B11), which is necessary for the growth and development of the feotus, and for the production of white and red blood cells. In addition, it has also been scientifically shown that strawberries are good for the intestinal flora and maintaining cognitive abilities in later life.
The strawberries, as a treasure trove full of vitamins, are therefore indispensable for good health for young and old!
