Strawberry jam
Prep time: 60 minutes, cooking time: 20 minutes
Wash the strawberries with the crown on under water. Let them drain well.
Remove the crown and cut the strawberries in half.
Combine the strawberries and sugar in a medium heavy-bottomed saucepan and let stand for 10 minutes.
Slowly bring this to a boil, lower the heat and let the jam reduce for 35 minutes.
Remove the jam from the heat and let stand for 2 minutes to allow the bubbles to disappear. Spoon the mixture into hot sterilized jars and seal immediately. Let the jars cool upside down.
